New Work in Progress
I’m in the Research and Development phase of my newest project. I’m teaching myself how to make paint pigments from plants, specifically native SoCal plants. So I’m learning my local native plants and their important rolls in the eco system as a whole and teaching myself through trial and error….mostly error, to make pigments from them. I’ve been taking classes through the Theodore Payne Foundation and the California Native Plant Society and slowly converting our yard into native habitat. I see the end result as paintings on paper representing the specific color profile of specific 10 x 10 foot plots of land. This blog will be an account of this journey and probably some other related things that come up along the way.
